Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men; For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say. --D & C 100:5-6

LUMAPIT KA SA AKIN! -WEEK 52

So my title this week has to do with 2 things!!  Well first of all it means "come unto me" so first it is part of our purpose as missionaries! Because part of our purpose is to invite others to COME UNTO CHRIST!  Sooo how as missionaries do we invite them to come unto Christ...by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, baptism, receiving the holy ghost and enduring to the end!

WELL this last week I got to see a lot of coming unto Christ!! And GREAT MISSIONARY WORK!! So on Tuesday we got to attend a baptism of a child of record! Then after that on Saturday I had the privilege of baptizing 3 boys of one part member family and then baptizing the husband of the boys older sister!! So we completed one family and then almost completed the other, but the one sister is waiting for her older brother to baptize her who is in the navy right now!
BUT HOW GREAT THE EXPERIENCE TO SEE 5 PEOPLE COMING UNTO CHRIST THRU BAPTISM!!! in one week! WHOOP THERE IT IS!

The other part of the coming unto Christ comes from a verse I read the other day in D & C forgot the reference hehe but it says "draw near unto me and I will draw near to you" WHAT A GREAT PROMISE!!  Everyone in life feels sometimes like Christ is moving away from them and making their life harder, but we are just making the mistake of not making our effort of coming unto Him and asking for His grace and mercy!! Cause we have the promise when we do that He will come unto us and comfort us!!  Luckily I haven't had anything like that happening to me, but this last Sunday was testimony meeting and so many people were testifying of overcoming their trials and I wish I would have found that verse before sacrament, but I found it after church!! But at least I could share it with you guys!!

HAKUNA MATATA!!

Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you;
seek me diligently and ye shall find me;
ask, and ye shall receive; knock and it shall be opened unto you.

LIGAO 1A -WEEK 44

WELL MY NEW AREA IS LIGAO branch 1a and this branch is a lil bit bigger than my last one!! Going from 50 to 150 hahaha!! And soon to be Ligao WARD!!! Hopefully we can make it there we just have to focus on getting active full tithe melchezidek priesthood holders!!

BUT ABOUT THIS WEEK!!  So because we are opening an area we just went around to all our areas (our area is HUGE!) and we just met some members and found old investigators where we could.  But the problem was, that the last missionaries didn't have very many investigators. But we really just got to know our area and find members like half the week, because this area is pretty easy to get lost in!! ( FUNNY STORY ABOUT "LIGAO" well the word ligao in English is "LOST" hahaha so ya it's pretty easy to get "lost".
Well after we figured out the area we started finding and teaching investigators on Thursday! And in our first 2 lessons, we invited 6 people to be baptized for the second week of July hahaha I really like giving people baptismal dates, it's the only way we can see how interested they really are, so I always try to give them right away!!
What else well not much happened!! Well yesterday we went and worked with the 1st councilor in the district presidency so that was fun!! They have the best desire to work and get the membership bigger here!!

Well I don't really have any other stuff to talk about but just remember who we are "we are members of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints!! If you ever think it's gonna be an easy thing to be a latter day saint you were wrong... the center of our church is JESUS CHRIST, why should we think our life would be easy if it was never easy for him!!" (atonement and missionary work) yes of course everything will be a little bit easier because the center of our church is Jesus Christ and his atonement and we can all be made strong thru his atonement but!! we can only be made strong after we go thru our trials or afflictions!! then will our weak things be made strong!!

SHOUTOUT TO THE STRONGEST GIRL I KNOW!! COURTNEY IS GOING THRU A HARD TIME RIGHT NOW WITH A SICKNESS!!!
I would ask everyone to please pray for her!! Not necessarily for her to be healthy right away (cause I know that the priesthood blessings that my dear friends and family gave her will take care of that) but more for her to be made strong thru the atonement of Jesus Christ cause He truly did take upon Him all of our sicknesses!! and thru Him we will be made strong!!
I LOVE YOU COURT GET BETTER!! FRIENDS AND FAMILY THANK YOU FOR THE HELP YOU HAVE GIVEN MY FAMILY!!

LOVE ELDER BAKER
DONT FORGET COURTNEY!! HAKUNA MATATA!

 At Ligao zone conference

God knew the challenges we would face, and He certainly knew how lonely and troubled we would sometimes feel.  He watches over His mortal family constantly, hears our prayers always, He sent prophets (and later apostles) to teach, counsel, and guide us.  But in times of special need, He sends angels, divine messengers, to bless His children, to reassure us that heaven is always very close and that His help is always very near.             --Elder Jeffrey R Holland

BROWNS AT THE SUPERBOWL!! -WEEK 33

So first things first, this week was rough!!  I had a slight fever this last week of 102.2 lol just a lil... but it's okay no one worry now!! (MOM)  I'm doing fine now!!  But this last week we had 2 days of rest which was kinda disappointing!!  I always say to myself aww I just want to stay in, I'm tired, but I go out and work and then I'm not tired!!  But those 2 days of forced staying at home were terrible!!  All I wanted to do was go out and try to work.  But if I stood up the first place I had to go was to the C.R. or bathroom...  But other than that whole problem, we still were able to work.   And we visited one of our investigators si Robin or I call him ROBINHO!!  Well he's the one that was supposed to be baptised this Saturday, but we have to move it to next Saturday!!

AND OGI, the boy I told you about last week, is doing good.  The other day he was back up in the trees climbing to get what's called a star apple!!  And he was like standing on one branch with one foot that was like the size of a finger!!  And then the other foot on a different branch in the slpits reaching out to get a perfectly ripe star apple!! hahahaha  He's absolutely crazy!!  And I love him!!

Also, one of our investigators nanay Bellagoza said this last week she thinks she'll get baptised while I'm here!! She's been getting taught for about 2 years!!  Soo she's getting close!!  She really knows it's true but she's scared that she might fall away from the church after like 3 years, cause that's whats happened in her past with other churches.

In the spirit of Easter, read the teachings of Howard W Hunter chapter 6 about the atonement and resurrection!   It will add a lot more knowledge about the resurrection!!

WELL,  I just want to end by sharing with you guys a new favorite verse!!  Mosiah 3:19 the natural man is an enemy to  God!!  Once we truly recognize that we can learn to counter the natural man through the promptings of the holy ghost!

I love you all and want you all to have a safe week!!

How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness?
He sent his Son, a newborn babe, with peace and holiness.
How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go?
He sent his Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know.
How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death?
He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath.
What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say?
Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way.
What does he ask?  Live like his Son.
